After the Retire Your Ride program ended, SCRAP-IT received two consecutive grants from the BC Provincial Government through the Climate Action Secretariat in recognition of the work the program was doing to reduce CO2 emissions in the province and to ensure the continuation of the program.
With a complete operational platform now securely in place and running smoothly, SCRAP-IT simply continued to provide incentives and rebates to BC residents who voluntarily surrendered their vehicle to the program.
The program continued to scrap vehicles at an average of 200 per month.
